Shopping Night

Thursday nights are affectionately known as Shopping Night in town.   Every other night of the week, stores close early...like 6 pm early!  Sundays, the majority of shops are not open and if they do, it's only for a few hours in the afternoon.   On Thursdays, most stores stay open until 9 pm.  This is a huge deal!  I think everyone in town goes out window shopping on Thursdays.   The D'Eletto family is no different.   After dinner last night (which was interesting in itself...I am still not sure what we actually ate that I thought was sausage links) we set off to the town.    We window shopped and the kids got donuts from our favorite bakery - Bakker Bart's. We were truly amazed by all of the tents, temporary buildings, and stages that are now set up all over town.  At 8 pm, they were still constructing a giant stage near St. Stevenskerk Church.  Next, we stopped off for drinks at a local outdoor restaurant (cold, frosty ones for mommy and daddy and chocolate milk for the squirts).  We then ventured to a bookstore and Kayla got a Van Gogh book followed by our second trip of the day to Albert Heijns Grocery Store.  I forgot bananas and jelly the first time around!
